What started as a reluctant tag-along hobby quickly turned into a full-blown passion. My husband began collecting Hot Wheels back in 2006, and at first, I just didn’t get it. Every trip to Walmart, Target, Kmart, or Toys R Us meant a mandatory stop in the diecast aisle—and I mean every trip. It became a part of our routine, whether I liked it or not!
Fast forward a few years (okay, many years), and I found myself falling for the world of diecast too. I became obsessed with 1:24 scale cars—especially vintage Johnny Lightning White Lightnings and Lightning Strikes. Then came Hot Wheels, M2s, and anything pink or Barbie-inspired. My collection grew, and so did my love for the hobby.
We began attending conventions together and even made it to our first Nationals in 2024 in Georgia. My husband had been customizing for years, and I wanted in—but with a twist. I’m a girly girl at heart, so I decided to combine my love for sparkle with diecast collecting. And just like that, my bedazzled customs were born.
My very first piece (I had to go all out!), Barbie Land, was entered into the 2024 LA Convention—and to my amazement, it won People’s Choice. From there, custom requests started rolling in, and my glittering journey officially began.
